HR Generalist (Bilingual Spanish Required)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations, employee relations, and administrative processes. The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English and brings strong organizational skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to navigate sensitive HR matters with professionalism and confidentiality. Experience in HR compliance and payroll is strongly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including new-hire paperwork, orientation, and exit procedures
  • Provide Spanish-language support for employee questions, documentation, and training

HR Administration

  • Maintain employee files, records, and HRIS data to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
  • Prepare HR correspondence, reports, and internal documentation
  • Support benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee leave management

Compliance (Preferred)

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support audits, documentation requirements, and updates to HR policies and handbooks
  • Help monitor workplace safety protocols and compliance-related training

Payroll Support (Preferred)

  • Assist with payroll processing, timecard review, and employee inquiries
  • Support coordination of wage adjustments, reimbursements, and payroll documentation
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and help resolve discrepancies

Recruiting & Talent Support

  • Support job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication
  • Assist hiring managers with recruitment workflows and onboarding planning

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required (verbal and written)
  • 2-5 years of HR experience preferred
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, HRIS systems, and standard HR workflows
  • Experience in compliance or payroll strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with HRIS or payroll platforms (ADP, Workday, Paycom, etc.)
  • Understanding of California employment laws (if applicable)
  • Strong customer service background
